Abstract
Hybrid males from interspecific crosses of Heliothis virescens (F.) and Heliothis subflexa (Guenneé) are sterile. The eupyrene sperm in bundles from testes seminal vesicles, and the duplex region of the hybrids have abnormal axial filaments, satellite rods, mitochondrial derivatives, and sperm sheaths. Generally, 2 sperm eupyrene sperm within sperm bundles show a decrease tails are attached to a single sperm head. Counts of in the number of sperm per bundle. These morphogenetic abnormalities probably account for the inability to transfer eupyrene sperm to the spermathecae. Keywords
