Abstract
Direct muon transfer to helium from excited muonic hydrogen with principal quantum number n=2, 3, 4, and 5 is considered in a quasiclassical approximation. Reaction rates turn out to be ∼– and should be taken into account when considering the cascade of excited muonic hydrogen in hydrogen-helium mixtures.
