THE CERVICAL PREVERTEBRAL FAT STRIPE

Abstract
Displacement or blurring of the cervical prevertebral fat stripe may allow for detection and localization of (1) fractures, (2) masses, (3) inflammation, and (4) confusing normal densities related to the cervical prevertebral soft tissues. This is true even when the measurement of the width of the soft tissue space falls within the wide range of normal.
