Abstract
Two neutral macrocyclic lactones designated platenolides I and II have been isolated as the major products from the fermentation broth of the blocked mutants of Streptomyces platensis subsp. malvinus. These two compounds were isolated by solvent extraction and purified by column chromatography. Both platenolides [PL-I: C20H32O6, PL-II: C20H34O6] are closely related to the platenomycin aglycone. Keywords
