The Chemistry of the Natural Order Cupressales. XXVII. Heartwood Constituents of Juniperus utahensis Lemm.

Abstract
From the heartwood of J. utahensis were isolated thujopsene, cuparene, widdrol, "Widdringtonia diol" a yellow compound C20H20O5, carvacrol, nootkatin, hinokiic acid as well as a hydroxy acid and a carbonyl containing compound, both probably of a sesquiterpene nature. The presence of B-thujaplicin was indicated by paper chromatography and that of a-cedrene by gas chromatography.
