Abstract
Spectrophotometric observations of comet Halley in the wavelength range 3600–7000 Å during the period 1985 October 15 and 1986 April 9 were made on the 1.6-m optical telescope of the National Laboratory of Astrophysics, Brazópolis, Brazil. Emission fluxes of O I (6300 Å), CN (388 nm), and C2 (516 nm) are analyzed in the framework of the Haser model, and production rates of these cometary species are determined. Dust production rates in the coma of comet Halley are derived from the continuum flux measurements at wavelength 4840 Å. The spectrophotometric observations of comet Halley show that the dust-to-gas ratio decreases with the increase of heliocentric distance of the comet. Keywords
