Abstract
The chelating power of the orthomethoxy phenolic (guaiacyl) group is fundamental to the accepted setting reaction of the metal oxide/eugenol cements. In this report, the chelating power is quantitatively described by the sequence of β2 for the chelates of the relevant metal ions. Keywords
