Abstract
A type of aliesterase designated as band D. was separated by starch-gel electrophoresis and effects of thyroid hormone on its enzyme activity were examined in 2 inbred strains of mice. The staining intensity of band D enzyme in the serum of C3H/HeJ strain of mice was apparently stronger in thyroidectomized mice than in untreated normal mice. It diminished extremely in the thyroidectomized mice when L-thyroxine was given. The thyroid hormone had the same effect on male and female mice. The activity of band D enzyme was absent in female and male mice of SS strain and did not appear after thyroidectomy. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
