Abstract
A colorimetric method for the detn. of molybdenum in biological materials was described. The Evelyn colorimeter was used with a special filter. Cow'' s milk contained about 3 times as much molybdenum as goat'' s milk. Molybdenum fed as Na molybdate was poorly absorbed by the rat. The addition of molybdenum to goat'' s milk did not produce increased growth. A daily intake of 40 cc. of this milk (the usual amt. required) contained approx. 0.5 y of molybdenum. It can be concluded that if molybdenum is needed by the growing rat then this amt. of molybdenum/ day satisfies its requirement. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
