Abstract
Difficulties arising during the establishment of a clinical unit students' clerkship programme are presented. These are reviewed to establish general principles important for the successful introduction of such clerkships. Particular emphasis is laid on continual evaluation, and the results of one such evaluation are discussed.Keywords
