Abstract
The ABO and Rh sub-types have been studied in various population groups in Punjab and U. P. The data shows the B(q) gene to be higher in Punjab than in U. P. The Rh negative frequency was 8.7%. The Rh sub-types showed that the RZ(CDE) gene is absent or very rare in Punjabis but present in U.P., while R₀ (cDe) is present in Punjabis and absent or very rare in U.P. populations. Keywords
