Superconductivity on the Pyrochlore Lattice

  • 25 June 2001
Abstract
We report experimental evidence for superconductivity at 1 K in the cadmium rhenium oxide pyrochlore Cd2 Re2 O7 which comprises the three-dimensional tetrahedral network sharing vertices with a geometrical frustration.Resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat data are presented.Another phase transition found at 200 K suggests that a peculiar electronic structure lies behind the superconductivity.
