Abstract
An automatic recording spectropolarimeter especially adapted to molecular structure investigations is described and its design considerations analyzed. It employs a polarimetric principle using a Faraday modulator to obtain a sensitivity approaching 0.0005° under the most favorable conditions. The spectral range 1875 Å to 6000 Å is covered with a resolving power of about 10 Å and sample absorbance up to 2.0 can be tolerated. Keywords
