All-optical incoherent negative taps for photonicsignal processing

Abstract
A novel all-optical technique to realise negative taps in an incoherent fibre optic transversal filter is demonstrated. The concept is based on cross gain modulation in an inhomogeneously broadened laser medium. It overcomes one of the main limitations of optical signal processing.Keywords
