Abstract
Summary Ninety-two adult male volunteers failed to develop the disease of parasitic pharyngitis, “halzoun,” after consuming raw liver infected with either one or both of the flukes Fasciola hepatica and Dicrocoelium dendriticum. Some views on the mechanism of production of this peculiar disease and the uncertainties of its true etiology are presented. Keywords
