ACTION OF ALLOXAN ON A HYPOGLYCEMIC INFANT

Abstract
An 8-mo.-old white female had severe spontaneous hypoglycemia with associated convulsions which were not relieved by subtotal pancreatectomy. Alloxan (55 mg./kg. body wt. by rapid intraven. injn. in initial dose, increased by 5 mg./kg. daily) eventually produced a mild hyperglycemia. The child improved over a 14-mo. period.
