Abstract
Studies were made of the flower buds of B glabra and B spectabilis from various sources, diakinesis, metaphases, and early ana-phase being most favorable for studying the chromosomes. A heteromorphic pair of homologous chromosomes is reported, this being the first report of this condition in plants except in dioecious species and associated with sexual differentiation. Keywords
