Essay Writing in a Political Education

Abstract
Ineffective and ungrammatical writing is unacceptable in the exposition of college students. The goal of improving expository writing can be pursued in conjunction with the substantive purposes of a political science course. This article describes, illustrates, and suggests remedies for such expository errors as faulty beginnings, the failure to prosecute a definite argument, rhetorical shortcomings and corresponding liabilities, problems of grammar, and control over interpretation.
