Abstract
Weights of individual and paired adrenals together with adrenal-body weight ratios for 119 male, female and castrated Hereford and Brahman cattle are presented. There was no significant difference between adrenal-body weight ratios for the two species, although they were consistently smaller for Brahman cattle. Unlike most other mammalian species examined, adrenal-body weight ratios tended to increase with age and to decrease after castration. Adrenal weights of these cattle apparently were not affected by sex and were much smaller in relation to body weight than is reported for other mammalian species. Keywords
