Abstract
ERGOTAMINE tartrate is still the most reliable agent for relief of the migraine attack. It is similarly useful in Horton's syndrome, which many classify as a variant of migraine. Numerous factors need consideration regarding its most efficacious and convenient method of administration. Chief among these is reliability of absorption of the drug into the systemic circulation so that dependable effectiveness may be counted upon from a given dose. Avoidance of unpleasant side effects is also important. Since ergotamine is most effective when given early in the attack, availability when needed and convenience of administration prove to be important considerations. The . . .Keywords
