Exchange of 239Pu IV Between Transferrin and Ferritin in Vitro

Abstract
The transfer of 239Pu IV from transferrin, which is the transport protein for iron, to ferritin, which is a storage protein for iron, has been investigated by gel filtration and gel electrophoresis. The results show that Pu IV-transferrin + ferritin → transferrin + Pu IV-ferritin occurs in vitro at pH 8, and that under the specific conditions of this experiment the ferritin complex is more stable than the transferrin complex.
