Abstract
Plasma protein generally labeled with C14 was biologically prepared in donor rats by feeding the animals killed Rhodospirillum rubrum organisms grown on media containing C14O2 as the main carbon source. When this plasma was injd. into recipient animals, its rate of loss from the circulation was the same, but its apparent rate of metabolism, as judged by respiratory C14O2 values and tissue labeling, was different from that previously found with the protein labeled by the injn. of serine-beta-C14. Reasons for these differences are discussed. Keywords
