A sound-speed equation of fifth order in temperature is fit with a standard deviation of 0.0028 m/sec to 148 observations between 0.001°C and 95.126°C on the T68 scale. The accuracy is believed to be 0.015 m/sec, and the reproducibility over replications is 0.005 m/sec.
