Abstract
Ribonucleic-acid contents in brain and liver of rats previously treated with strychnine and amphetamine have been determined. Strychnine significantly increased RNA content in brain but was without action on liver. Amphetamine, on the other hand, did not change significantly RNA neither in brain nor in liver. It is suggested that the effect of strychnine on RNA of brain may be related to its stimulatory action on the central nervous system, and could play a role in the known action of strychnine in enhancing learning of rats. Keywords
