Abstract
Activity along the inferior alveolar nerve in response to force application to canine teeth yielded two responses, one associated with light forces and the other with heavy forces. The two types of nerve endings found were naked terminals, which occurred throughout, and specialized receptors, innervated by large fibers, which were confined to the apical third of the root. Keywords
