Abstract
For anyone working with older people, falls and how to prevent them are major concerns. Two websites currently in operation offer a range of information on the topic. The Foundation of Nursing Studies (FoNS) has its Reducing Patient Falls website a www.fons.org/projects/falls/ , which allows nurses and other health professionals to share information about initiatives to prevent falls. The resources section offers downloadable tools for risk assessment, a protocol on using hip protectors and electronic versions of the FoNS Reducing Patient Fall report.
