Abstract
Insulin, epinephrin, pituitrin had no definite effect on the fasting blood fat of dogs, determined by Bloor''s oxidation method. Alimentary lipemia, obtained by feeding olive oil is augmented by previous fasting of several days'' duration, and decreased by previous abundant feeding or by simultaneous administration of glucose. Insulin injected when the fat meal was given inhibits the alimentary lipemia; epinephrin or pituitrin had no effect. It is concluded that the carbohydrate metabolism is an important factor in fat transport. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
