Abstract

In a previous paper (Ostrom 1974) a set of formulae were used to calculate the total CO2 content of sea water and primary production values obtained by the C14 technique. However, the original paper (Buch 1945) only presented a table of data for the solubility of CO2 without giving the function. In this paper such functions are re-established using iterative best fit techniques for the given data. This improvement allows the total CO2 content of sea water and primary production values to be calculated on small computers.
