Abstract
G (salicylic acid) or G (Sal) has been determined for 10-3 [image] and 10-4 [image] aqueous calcium benzoate solutions irradiated with Co60 gamma-rays, 250-kvcp, X-rays, 100-kvcp X-rays, and 50-kvcp X-rays. The G (Sal) values for Co60 gamma- rays of 0.655 (10-3 [image]) and 0.595 (10-4 [image]) are about 6% lower than previously determined values. Possible sources of error in the measurements have been examined and discussed. For the measurement of low doses (16 rads), the use of chromic acid for cleaning irradiation vessels has been shown to yield irreproducible results. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
