Abstract
Sleep has been a subject of interest to writers from antiquity, but medical researchers remained strangely disinterested in it until about 20 years ago. Much has been learned about sleep in the past two decades. In this article, Dr Mulrooney briefly reviews the highlights of current information about sleep physiology and then goes on to present a detailed discussion of respiratory problems now recognized to be associated with sleep. Does your obese patient snore loudly at night and fall asleep repeatedly during the day? This article tells you why and provides some suggestions about how you can help. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
