Abstract
Activities of a business—whether large or small—can for this topic be seen as a cybernetic circle: data—information—decision—action—success—data. The information phenomenon has contents and technical aspects which are dealt with. The entrepreneurs' attitudes towards the information problem together with some effects of information technology on smaller firms are considered. Hints are given on the range of external assistance for the information problem. Keywords
