Abstract
This article describes how a head occupational therapist tried to overcome the problem of a chronic shortage of occupational therapists by redefining staff roles. One of the helpers who was affected by this strategy gives his opinion of its effectiveness and describes what it feels like to be an unqualified member of staff in an occupational therapy department. Keywords
