Abstract
Pigmented-paddle (du2 ), a fully penetrant, autosomal recessive, occurred spontaneously in a laboratory strain of Culex pipiens. It darkens the cuticle of the mosquito, and most obvious where the cuticle is thickened, as in the mid-rib of the pupal paddle. It is in linkage group II, about 3.7 crossover units from yellow-larva (y) and 27.5 units from ruby-eye (ru). Variation in frequency of recombination was large, especially in the y-ru segment. Substantially less recombination was observed in heterozygous males than in heterozygous females. No significant sex difference in recombination was noted in the du2-y segment. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
