Abstract
To the Editor.— The passing of the well-beloved Charlie Dennie, although not entirely unexpected as he had not been well recently, was nevertheless a very real jolt to his many friends and colleagues. As an old friend, of many years, may I say how much I personally admired and liked him, both as a friend and an outstanding dermatologist. I first met him many years ago in Kansas City and have had periodical contacts with him off and on ever since. As a dermatologist he was in the top echelon and as a friend he was a "nonpareil." His work on syphilis is known worldwide and he has made many other contributions to dermatology not least of which is "Dennie's Solution" which I and others have found so useful over the years in the treatment of various keratoses.
