Abstract
1. Two cases of gunshot wound of the aorta with peripheral arterial bullet embolism are reported. 2. Survival after bullet perforation of the aorta appears to need the elasticity of youth to permit the wound of the vessel to close without immediate hemorrhagic death. 3. Whenever a patient with an abdominal or thoracic gunshot wound of entry, and no wound of exit, does not have the projectile in the area of the wound, suspicion of embolization should be entertained. Keywords
