Abstract
This study assessed whether similarities or differences in personality between student pilots and their flight instructors at least partially account for the wide range of flying hours required to obtain a pilot's certificate. A significant relationship was noted between difference scores for male students and instructors, as measured on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and student-pilots' flying time. Keywords
