Abstract
Thirty-eight patients with metastatic colorecal carcinoma were treated with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), and 38 patients were treated with the combination of 5-FU, cyclophosphamide, and methotrexate. In terms of percent response, response duration, and survival there was no apparent difference between the two regimens. Combination chemotherapy was found to be effective in 6 of 16 patients refractory to treatment with 5-FU alone, but was associated with more morbidity. Keywords
