Abstract
Neurogenic tumors are a relatively frequent cause of unilateral exophthalmos. They demonstrate certain characteristic features on B-scan ultrasonography that enable their recognition, including a regular contour, a rounded configuration, the presence of a sharply defined anterior acoustic border and definite acoustic solidity. High resolution B-scan ultrasonography is an atraumatic, easily performed procedure that can significantly aid the clinician in the diagnosis of neurogenic tumors of the orbit. The ability of Bscan ultrasound to demonstrate preoperatively the nature and position of these tumors enables proper choice of surgical approach. Keywords
