Abstract
The sex ratio and generation period throughout a year as well as the longevity and progeny of Trichogramma evanescens reared in Anagasta kuehniella were studied. From the experimental data the following conclusions were drawn: The average number of progeny produced/female at an average temperature of 22.6° C and RH. of 55–62% was estimated at 17.9 ± 0.7. The female longevity was found to be 7.3% ± 0.36 days, whereas the sex ratio was 0.74 female. The relative numbers of females produced by parasites throughout a year fluctuated from 71 to 85%.The shortest life cycle from egg to adult averaged 7.2 days during August, while the longest was amounted to 13.2 days during February.A significant correlation of ‐ 0.786 between the generation period and the temperature was evidenced.
