Abstract
A drawing prism and a digitising tablet were used in conjunction with a computer to measure length of cyanobacterial filaments. The measurements were more accurate and four times faster than using an eyepiece micrometer. The computer program LENGTH allows measurement of straight and curved filaments, statistical analysis and the drawing of a histogram, while the data can be stored for further analysis. Keywords
