Abstract
Rats in which the hippocampus was ablated through the overlying neocortex showed an increased susceptibility to audiogenic seizures, chiefly in response to a weak sound; rats in which only the overlying neocortex was destroyed also showed an increase in seizures, but only to a more intense sound.
