Abstract
The q-dependent magnetic susceptibility χ(q) and effective moment μeff(q) of heavy-fermion quasiparticles are studied at T=0 in the Zou-Anderson spin-orbit-coupling model for the simple cubic lattice. Antiferromagnetic (q=Q) correlations are shown to be dominantly enhanced by interband effects for relatively large quasiparticle fillings. The obtained moments μeff2(0)1.20μB2 and μeff2(Q)0.7μB2 are in good agreement with the Zou-Anderson value and the experimental value for CeAl2, respectively, but are in disagreement with the experimental values for CeCu2 Si2 and CeAl3.
