Genetics of theGe78—As78Fission Chain

The half-life of ${\mathrm{Ge}}^{78}$, measured by isolation of the (91.0±0.6)-min ${\mathrm{As}}^{78}$, is (86.0±1.0) min. No evidence for the ∼40-min As reported in fission was found. The fission yields of ${\mathrm{Ge}}^{77}$, ${\mathrm{As}}^{77}$, ${\mathrm{Ge}}^{78}$, and ${\mathrm{As}}^{78}$ are reported.
