Abstract
The polyacene chain is viewed as two interacting chains of trans-polyacetylene. We use the extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model of the effects of the interchain coupling to study the polaronic excitations. We found that the results of polyacene do agree quite well with the known results for two chains of polyacetylene. © 1996 The American Physical Society. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
