Abstract
Army aeromedical evacuation procedures in Vietnam provide service so that no soldier is more than 35 minutes away from a medical facility capable of giving definite, resuscitative life-saving treatment. The use of the helicopter as a life-saving vehicle has not yet reached its full potential. The experiences that the Army Medical Service has gained in utilization of helicopter ambulances can and should be translated to comparable civilian emergency health programs. Keywords
