Abstract
The area discussed is a 65 km2 block situated in the southern part of the Mangakahia Ranges (N19), near Pakotai, mid-Northland. It consists largely of Tangihua Volcanics comprising a variety of submarine basaltic lavas and volcaniclastics intruded by numerous dikes of dolerite, gabbro, diorite, and granophyre; a large multiply-intruded gabbro-diorite-granophyre dike complex, the Onetai Intrusion, occurs in the southern part of the area. Twelve new chemical analyses are presented. Keywords
