Abstract
Real-space renormalisation-group methods, applied to both the Kondo lattice and Hubbard one-dimensional (1D) half-filled models show that the two systems behave in a very similar way. For the half-filled 1D Kondo lattice the calculations show that a gap, Delta , opens up for all J (where J is the exchange coupling) and an analytical low-J expansion near the J=0 fixed point gives Delta approximately exp(-A/J) as in the exact solution of the Hubbard model. Keywords
