Abstract
We explore the possibility that the intercepts of the nonstrange meson and baryon Regge trajectories are simply related to quark spin. This possibility arises if one adopts a multiperipheral bootstrap for these (ordinary) trajectories and also a perturbative recipe relating a process with a given number of particles to quark-gluon diagrams. The possible implication of the scheme for the Pomeron are also discussed. Keywords
