Flux enhancement and lattice site location

Abstract
In a previous publication we outlined the preliminary results of our computer calculations of the flux enhancement of channelled ion beams. The calculations have been extended to consider in detail the variation of flux as the incident beam is scanned across a channel axis. The results are compared with analytical estimates based on the continuum model. A strong depth oscillation is observed in the flux peak and is directly related to the crossover point of the channelled beam. The relationship between the flux enhancement and lattice location measurements is discussed.
