Abstract
Summary: An investigation into the irregularity of menstrual cycles within two years of the menarche does not indicate any increasing regularity when compared with reports of 30 years ago. Intervals of 4, 5 and 6 months between periods are not uncommon, especially during the first five cycles. Cycle length gradually declined during the 15 cycles studied but a wide cycle range persisted in cycles 11 to 15.Keywords
